Climate change begins at Home.

In the US just the homes of the people produce a 40% of the total carbon emissions in the country every year.

A total of 626 million metric tons of carbon were produced by the homes in the U.S. in 2005 alone.

Based on this analysis of potential emissions weatherazing homes as well as properly maintaining heating and cooling systems could save more than 37 million metric tons of carbon.

People are busy, and when you gasp at your energy bill or at the gas pump you don't know what part of that bill is paying for something you want, like heating, cooling and transportation and what part of it is just waste.

People should be more concerned about this situation I think; the Climate Change should be a very big deal for everyone.

QUESTIONS:

1. What other things could we do to save the planet from a early Global Warming?

2. What do you think the school should do to help prevent Global Warming?

  1. I think that the schools should close because it produce a lot of gas for people to go to school every day they waste a lot of energy like light an d heating but then if all th eschools would be close everyone will not learn anything and they are going to be less inteligent and they wont think before doing something.

  3. Great job Enrique!
I don't really agree with Alex by saying that the schools should be closed, but I think that there are some things that the school already does, which is, in the Colby showers instead of the two faucets (water taps) we have a button that controls the time for the water waste, but the school could do something about the lights, maybe one day, who knows?

  4. I think that the people like in them shcool should not wast light or other energy and like if it's the day andit's sunny outside we should not open the lignt and if you don't watch television close it and other things like that can make us don't waste energy.

  5. Sometimes teachers leave their lights on during the day, they could just leave the window blinds open to not waste energy, same with computers. They should not close schools for this.

  6. i think the only way that we could cut down on electricity and save money is if us students participate, i think half the billing goes to us because we dont turn off the lights in our rooms when we leave, or we dont turn the tv in the student center, so if we participate we could save alot of money fot this school which could go to more important things

  7. i think we should not make alot of green space, so that every thing else around it could be alive and live longer, sense we use alot of the enviroment, we should rebuild what what we killed,
i think that the schools should have less buses and make a limiut to paper that the students use..
