Meet a woman who trains robots for a living

Andrea Thomaz worked on a new invention. Can you imagine a robot, who can do cooking or cleaning your house? Andrea Thomaz think that robot will soon learn how to do what we want to do.

She explained that we have to teach the robot, example, how to cook, so how to grab the bowl or how to put sauce on the food. After you show to the robot how to do it, the robot will try to do the same thing or it will ask questions about how it should grab it or how it should hold the plate.

She said that with a little bit of practice, the robot will have a good built of a better model. Mrs. Thomaz said that people want to see the robot doing their chores that they don’t want to do. People wants to see robots doing everything, so they can have more free time.

For a lot of people in the community of human-robot interaction, that is the target—getting robots to a low enough price point that somebody could purchase one to be in their home and do something useful. We’re definitely not there yet, but we’re going to get there. The part of Robot & Frank that matches the vision she has for her lab is that the robot is adaptable.
Soon, human will be able to communicate with robots and soon, it will have to be some part of the end-user interaction.

Questions:
1.    Are robots will be a new treat for the population?
2.    Is it absolutely good for the habitants to have robots, doing their chores and the food? Are we going to be lazier if robots are doing everything?

  1. I think that having robots in our houses will be a great idea, only if they just help us. If robots do everything that we need to do, people will be really lazy, and that will increase the number of fat people around the world.
I like the idea of having robots that can help us to do things, but only helping, not in doing all the work.

  2. I agree with Marisol because I think that if they do everything for us we will just get lazier and stay on the couch watching TV or something like that and we wouldn't be as healthy. But It would be good to have a robot that would clean your room or do your homework or something like that. :)

  3. I think that if everyone gets robots to work in their house, then people will become lazy. If robots start to make meals, wash all the dishes, do all the laundry, and make everyone’s bed then all the human beings will not have anything to do, and they will just sit around watching TV while the robots serve them at their every need.
On the other hand, if people are more intelligent than I think, they will not let the robot do all the work. If people want to not become lazy, they will help the robot do everything, and if the robot is doing too much work and no human is doing anything then they would send the robot back.
The only problem with that is that people don’t think that way. If people get a robot to do all the work than their first instinct is to not do anything and let the robot do all the work. This is what is not good about the robots. People will become lazy and not very helpful. To prevent this from happening, my advice is that you should not get a robot at all.

  4. In response to Kim's second question, I think that it everyone had a robot to do things for them, then they wouldn't have to do anything for themselves. Therefore, they would order their robot to do everything for them and they would sit around all day just watching television and getting fat. The only thing that keeps people from doing nothing is jobs, and chores around the house. So if they have robots to do those things for them, then they would never do anything for themselves.

Although, if I were offered a robot to do everything for me than I would not take it. Well, I would, if, I wouldn't have seen the movie iRobot...But all in all, if someone else was offered a robot, then they would probably take it because it is much more convenient than doing everyone for yourself.

  5. technology has an only objective and its to do human life easier, give us tools that help us or even do our jobs, but the community will get used to it and start forgiving the manual processes that in case of a robots failure will be needed. Obviously this will be a treat that at its start only few persons will have because the costs will be high, but after a time this costs will be available so everybody can have one, in my case I don't think it would be bad to have a robot.

  6. Kim this was a great post and this is my answer to your first question. I think that in a future robots are going to be part of our lives. As technology has evolve and know forms part of our lives, the robots will do the same and they are going to be the future technology. And our lives will get use to it. Yes probably we will stop doing some stuff but we won't be lazy because we will be doing other type of stuff. Robots will be very useful but they will depend on the humans.

  7. Kim this was a very good comment and I think that no robots wont be a threat in our world because they are design to only help us not to try to ill us. It is a good thing to have something like a robot to help us with our chores and maybe all the population will become lazy because we don't need to do anything if we have something that can do it for us.

  8. For my answer too the second question, I believe that knowing how us humans think, we will take this whole "having a robot thing" way further than indented. I believe that once we get robots the generations after that will no longer be capable of doing simple everyday day tasks that we do now. Which will then cause for most of the population (owning a robot) to become extremely lazy. I think that our smartphones right now are acting as a mini robot. And again, knowing us humans why do the dishes when you could have a robot do it!

  9. I think that robots will be a new way for humans to do things without exerting any effort. The human will do something once then never have to do it again. Humans will definitely uses this to their advantage to get unwanted jobs done.

I think that humans will become really lazy and obese if we continue to let robots do work for us instead of doing it for ourselves. This can make us lose comprehension of how the work is done and if the robots fail or get broken we cant do our work and the world fails.
